3-4 Multi-Aged Program

Saginaw 3 year old Preschool

New Life Saginaw Preschool provides a Christ-centered learning environment designed to assist families in preparing their child educationally and socially through Play-Based learning.

We offer a safe and nurturing environment to spark your child’s curiosity and give them the opportunities to explore, foster independence, and instill a foundation for future learning.

Our program emphasizes the development of your child’s social and emotional skills, building self-confidence, and fostering independence in order to give them a foundation for learning and Kindergarten readiness.

Goals

  • Assist in preparing your child socially, emotionally, and educationally, to enter a public or private Kindergarten environment.
  • Allow the child to be creative, develop fine motor skills, develop a positive self-image, and learn the communication and social skills they will need throughout their learning experience.
  • Provide a safe, nurturing, and loving environment that allows children to have a variety of experiences to be curious and explore their world.
  • Allow the child to have hands-on, child-led learning experiences.
  • Provide opportunities for communication and literacy skills to be learned through reading to them, talking to them, starting them on early writing, and helping them foster a love for reading.
  • Model how to be safe in their classroom, healthy habits, how to solve problems with others and even how to play.

Program

Ages 3-4 Multi-aged Program

Our Program is a Multi-aged classrooms that allows 3 and 4 year olds to be in the classroom together providing an environment for children to learn from each other and for individualized instruction based on ability and development rather than age.

While we previously had traditional classrooms based on age, we have found that our methods and instruction have been geared towards development and ability, which has resulted in maximizing our student’s potential for entering Kindergarten. Research has shown many benefits for students learning in a Multi-aged classroom and we are excited to offer this to our community.

Some Benefits of Multi-aged Program
  • Older children teach and explain what they know and benefit from re-teaching because it reinforces previously learned concepts and moves the child toward complete mastery.
  • Younger children focus intently on learning from the older classmates and are inspired by watching and playing with older, more advanced students.
  • We are able to offer better individualized instruction as children can be instructed as they develop at their own pace.
  • Boosts social skills. Older children learn leadership, empathy, and patience skills while younger children learn self-confidence and self-esteem. Both ages learn pro-social behaviors better such as sharing and helping.
  • Encourages emotional well-being as there is less competition and more freedom to focus on discovery and the joy of learning.
  • Fosters a Sense of Community and Real-life learning.
